Each day many people enter the property of others. The owners of such property are responsible for maintaining it in a safe manner and keeping their premises free from dangers and hazards which might cause harm to others.

Premise liability is concerned with unsafe conditions existing on real property. Liability can involve many theories of responsibility. Dangers on property can be caused by unsafe products, failure to make repairs, the storing of dangerous chemicals, fires, building code violations, engineering problems, architectural errors, electrical hazards, and so forth.

Sometimes, however, accidents occur on the property of others either at their place of business or at their home. If the accident was caused by the negligence of the owner, then an individual may have a premise liability claim.
